    Toshiba SDK750 Issue

    First and foremost:

I have plugged, unplugged, replugged, re-red-white-and-yellowed, etc. of things you can think of, and I'm still having this issue.

I put the DVD in....plays for about 5 minutes, then it freezes up on me and the display reads "BAD". I have tried different DVDs and I still get the same error display.

Can anyone help me out before I or more likely

    Thank you!!
    Sarah

are you talking about original dvds or backed-up copies? your player does not support +R format discs. it only supports -R & -RW :http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers....y=Date&hits=25

Original. I guess I should also state that I'm not all up on the technology terms so if you can dumb it down for me (prime example: re-red-white-and-yellowed) I would be really grateful

        - by the way -

try cleaning your player, one of those dust removers, the forced air sprayers or whatever they are called will work. or one of the lens cleaner cds could help too... is your player older? if it is, it could be on its way out.....

are the discs dirty or scratched?
Edit : i just answered my own question - you said you tried a few different discs

it could be your player is on the way out, has it worked fine in the past? have you had it for a long time?

                I have a Toshiba SD 6200,
When my player went out it was doing the same as yours is. I had a 5 year extened warranty through the store I bought mine from and it was replaced 3 times in the first 5 years. Some of the older model Toshiba's had a few major glitches to them.

So strange, the thing is brand new!

Oh well, I have an e-mail into Tech Support. We'll see how long it takes! Thanks for the help. Hopefully it's an easy fix

It may just be a defective player they may just give you a new one in exchange. I hope it works out for you.

Would be just my luck! I've had quite the day with electornics. Dogs spilled a soda all over my cell phone...the display has been flickering all day. Both my DVD players are acting up...

Note to self: Get off the iBook before I break that too!

haha yea pa is right youll be all set now no more bad luck!, if you have any kind of warranty on the player which i assume there is, try and get it replaced, seemings it brand new... there should be no reason for it acting like its dying and screwing up like that. so good luck! hope it turns out well. let us know.
