No video for DVD or avi just audio

Dear All

I have just made a copy of a DVD which I own (as a backup as my loan DVDs which seem to get covered in gunk with my friends??!!) using DVD shrink. I tried to watch the copy DVD after a successful burn to check it and there was audio but no video. I thought it had gone wrong and tried again with the same result and so on.

However I tried to play an avi later which I had created for work, which has had no problems in the past, and today it too had audio but no video, just a black screen, just like the DVD. All my avi's are like that.

What is going on? How can I solve this? What is the cause? All codecs are installed and all .avi files worked before. This is my first time trying to backup my DVDs using DVDshrink and DVD Decrypter.

Any help appreciated.

With the DVD's when you backed up your dvd you back up the enite moive?
Did you leave out any audio when backing it up?
Are you watching it on your computer or a stand alone player?

With the .avi 's are ou trying to watch them on your computer or Did you brun them to a disc?

The audio folder is empty. I backed up the entire disk. The avi's are on my HDD not on a cd/dvd.

Problem solved. I reinstalled my graphics card drivers, catalyst v6.3 and lo and behold normality was restored. An odd set of events.
