Has anybody figured out what part of Nero lets Media Player Classic play ISO files? I just did a restore on my computer and I'd rather not install the whole Nero program.

Doesn't VLC player play ISO images?

MPC does NOT play ISO images unless mounted with something like daemon tools or alcohol 120%.
I use MPC to view iso's all the time, without having daemon tools or alcohol 120% installed on my machine. Tools I need, but don't have at the moment, hahaha

You sure have NERO installed then. MPC cannot play ISO files unless there is a virtual drive(Daemon or Alcohol) or Nero installed. As Chewy said in Post 32,probably Nero Vision is the component that helps MPC play an ISO.
VLC,on the other hand, does not require anything else to play ISOs.

Have had problems recently with MPC & playing a few ISOs, not all but a few. Actually had to download VLC & use it, never had to do this before.

I just loaded it with a clean install of xp, why would I want to beta test nero out?

IE7 and media player 11 are bad enough

I can't believe you put IE7 on there.

this was a completely slipstreamed operation, a quasi nlite one, it went so well, I then did a repair on my #2 computer, it was terribly fragmented after the repair

IE 6 was/is getting awfully vulnerable out there in that cold cruel world
