I tried playing DVDs on my new DVD-RW drive, with “PowerDVD†v.6, but I can only get audio and not the video on the DVDs. The video I do get is some kind of chroma-key effect, unrelated to the DVD content.
I upgraded to DX9, enabled DMA for the DVD-RW drive, but found no available driver update for my Trident Video Accelerator 98XX/938X.
(My system specs: AMD Athlon 2800, with an Asus A7V880 MB, and an X86 Family 6 Model 10 processor, 520 Mgb of RAM. Running under W2K OS).
A tech suggested that I needed to upgrade my graphics card to an AGP 4X/8X—would that upgrade solve my audio-but-no-video DVD playback dilemma?
Thanks for any feedback.
