    gordian knot audio troubles

I'm new to Gordian Knot....former DvDX user
I have follwed the step by step directions, but when I get to the point where I have to choose the ac3 file, there are 3 of them. Whats that about? I can only select 1, unless I click on the audio2 tab but that still leaves 1 left over...any suggestions?

Without checking the files, the file that contain the string "T01" in the name, is usually a good choise. The other two will contain stuff like directors commentay, foreign language dubbing , or a stereo only, stream.

The audio2 tab in gknot is for dual audio stream avi files. For a first timer, I would suggest that you get it to work with 1 audio track before playing around with stuff like that.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

track 1 as well as 2 might be just fine.

very often you will find an 6 channel as well as a 2 channel sound stream.

in case you're converting the ac3 to mp3/ogg the latter might even be the better choice!

thus track number 2 does not at all have to be a directors comment. moreoever, you could simply have all ac3 tracks extracted by dvd2avi and create nay possible mp3/ogg beforehand with besweet gui, which lets you listen to your ac3 and thus enables you to decide on the very stream you want!

later on simply mux this mp3 through grodianknot!

or use smartripper to rip your data and take a look at the textfile smartripper produces.

it might look somewhat like this:

        ***************
        * Stream Info *
        ***************

        Stream[001] 0=[[0xE0] Video PAL 720x576] [] [] [] []
        Stream[002] 0=[[0x80] Audio English AC3(6Ch) 48kHz ] [] [] [] []
        Stream[003] 0=[[0x81] Audio Deutsch AC3(6Ch) 48kHz ] [] [] [] []
        Stream[004] 0=[[0x82] Audio English AC3(2Ch) 48kHz ] [] [] [] []
        Stream[005] 0=[[0x20] Subtitle English ] [] [] [] []
        Stream[006] 0=[[0x21] Subtitle Deutsch ] [] [] [] []

0x80 will be AUDIO track number 1
0x81 number 2 and so on
