i started to rip a movie using smartripper and got the vobs onto my harddrive. using dvd2avi i checked the vobs and they contain the full video but when i try to convert the audio with heada3he i get an error and when i try to do it in gknot it is only 8 seconds long. i have demuxed all tracks and still had no success. i wondering is it possible that maybe the audio that i need is in some other vob file cause i dont have the dvd anymore. the ac3 files that i have are normal size (400 megs or something) so im not sure whats going on.
Cant Find the Audio

Most probably there is an error in the AC3 file.
If you can't get either HeadA3he, Azid or besweet to work, you might try using graphedit to convert the ac3 file to a wav. This guide explains how this might be done.

An alternative method
Sorry about the late respones, I've been at work which made it rather difficult to test the method I'am going to suggest.
1) Get the winamp ac3 filter from here http://winampac3.sourceforge.net
2) Load the ac3 file into winamp, and check that the file plays OK.
3) select visualization->'Select plugin' from the right click menu, and select output->'Nullsoft Diskwriter plugin', click configure, and select your desired output directory, click OK and close.
4) Press play.
Edit: I only tested this with winamp2.8, I dare not install winamp3.0Last edited by khp; 31 Dec 2002, 11:04 AM.Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

when i created that lst file with the vob files in it like you said i loaded it and it said "couldnt find the ifo file!NO verbose-mode for stream-selection" then i click ok and then says ligos splitter seems to miss an audio stream. and after that there is ac3 selection availble in the middle box and i try that and i select the where to save the wav and click start and nothing happens. and yes i tried azid but it is command line based and i dont know how to use it.Comment

"vob2audio needs a file called .lst"
The required "*.lst" file is a simple text file that you can create in Notepad.
Example: You have ripped a DVD into a folder named "Ocean" on your C:\ drive. The movie is contained in a sequence of .VOBs named VTS_01_1,VTS_01_2,VTS_01_3,VTS_01_4 (DO NOT include VTS_01_0!)
Your file "Ocean.lst" would look like this:
C:\Ocean\VTS_01_1
C:\Ocean\VTS_01_2
C:\Ocean\VTS_01_3
C:\Ocean\VTS_01_4Comment
