    How long?

    Hello everybody..

Thanks for a very good forum

A just have a simple question.. How long does it take, to convert a movie from a original Dvd, into my computer as avi format.. Im using Dvd2svcd and TMPGEnc... I´ve tried to start it, ripping one movie.. It starts to load a lot of different things, then it execute TMPGEnc and running some things through, but in the last windows, the "remaining time" is 10 hours..

Is that normal.. Does it take so long to rip a movie from a Dvd??

    Hope someone can help me

It depends on how fast your system is. I personally think 10 hours is still a reasonable time for a DVD to VCD conversion.

If you are talking about DVD to DivX conversion, then the answer is you should get faster encoding speed than what you are originally getting. However, from my limited experience in creating VCDs, the process is comparatively slower, so I guess 10 hours is possible with your system.

          dvd to vcd

you should be able to do them in about 3-4 hours depending on the length of movie.suggest you use easy vcd or dvdx.
          10 hours is way out
