what is DX50 ?

Hi,

It seems to be a stupid question, but I have a movie (I know it's playable because one of my contacts can play it) that uses this video codec and I can't play it.

I've tried to install a lot of codec packs without success.

Gspot indicates that the video codec is 4CC: DX50 Name: Divx 5.0, and tells me that the Codec is not installed (I could have guess !)
the Audio codec is ogg_vorbis, and it plays perfectly.

Install the DivX 5.02 codec available from here.

dx50 definitely IS divx5

if you cannot properly playback the file there's something wrong with your installation of divx5

maybe tsunamis filterpack will help: click my upper anigif and go to the download section

install it via custom routine and keep the default settings

I've installed the pack and it solved my problem.

Honestly, I've tried to uninstall and install Divx codec several times before without success.
