By Mpeg I would assume that you are reffering to either Mpeg-1 or 2, Xvid (like DivX) is an Mpeg-4 compliant codec. As the number indicates Mpeg-4 is a later more advanced generation of video compression.Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

A new hardware standalone player from "Kiss technologies" supposedly plays back xvid content, and limited divx 5.0 content (SVCD, VCD and dvd too). Search this forum for more information, and you can visit the product website as well and divx.comComment
