    I'am sorry

Might I ask why this has been packed into a single executable file and uploaded to a pandora account that contains nothing except this file ?, not to mention that the file was uploaded just minutes before you started this thread, which suggest that you uploaded, and perhaps made this, which again suggest that it isn't something you just found and tested.

You are a completly new user here, and perhaps I'am beeing overly suspisious, but this smells alot like a virus, or something like that.

So unless you can show us exactly how this file was created, I would advice everyone to stay away from this file.

If I'am wrong about this, and I hope that I am, I offer you my sincerest and humble apologies.

"i have made that codec , it's packed with winrar and i will make a final version with my program tools."

The link points to an exe file not a rar file. Again, this may be a malicious file, and since I have no need for it, will not be downloading it.

What are the advantages of using this codec, compared to using, say, the MPEG-2 decoder of DVD players (such as PowerDVD) and MPEG-2 encoder (such as TMPGEnc)?

So far you have done absolutly nothing, to prove that this program won't nuke whatever PC it's installed on.

If you programmed this yourself, show us the source code.

If you did not program it yourself, tell use where you got it, and show us exactly how it was repakaged.

I had nothing better to do today, so ...

I downloaded the file, and it is a self-extracting RAR archive with the following files (extracted using right-click -> open RAR archive -> extract ... I didn't want to directly run the .exe file) :

                    cpuinf32.dll
                    iviaudio.ax - Intervideo audio filter
lmpgad.ax - Ligos MPEG audio decoder
                    lmpgspl.ax - Ligos MPEG Splitter
lmpgvd.ax - Ligos MPEG video decoder
MMSwitch.ax - Morgan Multimedia Stream Switcher
mpgaudio.ax - MPEG Audio Codec (Sample)
mplapx.dll - Ligos MPL Audio Library
mplvpx.dll - Ligos MPL Video Library

So that's files from Intervideo, Ligos and Morgan Multimedia.

Not exactly sure what to do here, so UncasMS has the last say on what happens to this thread.

Well anyway since it isn't a virus, why didn't you add a readme file or instructions on how to actually make the codec work.
(Not that i need it, but if you want users to download it and make it succesfully work for them)
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

i do share khp's scepticism and consider the wish to know beforehand, what i might download, legitimate.

the content seems to be a collection of reliable codecs
i have no idea though WHICH version are part of the pack:

                          - intervideo ac3 codec version what? mp3 patch included yes or no?

                          - ligos splitter patched to be able to look deeper into the vob files or unpatched?

                          - ligos audio decoder wouldnt be a choice of mine!
                          - neither would be ligos video decoder ( elecard mpeg2 video decoder version 1.3.2.0 is what i'd prefer)

so lets keep the thread open, but i'd rather have the authors (or should i better say *collectors*) opinion WHY those certain filters and codecs were used, and why divxfreak considers them to be superior to filters in existent and proven filterpacks such as TSUNAMIS FILTERPACK 396.

in case we dont hear some explaination i will still consider 396 the best choice, but prove me wrong!

but u just said u made the codec! ?!?!?!?!!?!?!

these codecs are availible from the web anyway, personally, I think admin will agree, that cyberlink filters are very very good, helped me solved ALOT of problems I was having when doing my "special" technique for DIVX encoding......

anyway.....even I can make a package heheh, I am pretty sure that the same codecs are bundled in one package on digital-digest........
