I suppose you are saying that you want an AVI file with dual tracks? If so, you can do something like this:
    1. Open AVI in nandub
    2. Set Video and Audio tabs to Direct Stream Copy
    3. Set the Secondary Stream to Full Processing Mode
    4. Under the same Secondary Stream, select your MP3 compressor and configure accordingly
    5. Go to File -> Save as AVI and give a name to the new file

why dont you create your two audio streams with any routine you prefer.

having done so simply mux the two mp3 with your avi using nandub or vd_mod.

Check that you have no more than one version of MP3 encoder installed in your system (ie. If you already have LAME registered, remove all others, and vice versa).

Alternatively, you can do as UncasMS suggested. Extract the original soundtrack using the following method:
              1. Open AVI in nandub
              2. Set Video and Audio tabs to Direct Stream Copy
              3. Go to File -> Save WAV... and give a name to the new file

Now that you have the soundtrack file extracted, convert it using an MP3 encoder, such as LAME, keeping the original file intact (ie. undeleted). Mux both files into the AVI using nandub.
