    tsunami vs. ace codec packs

i just did a fresh install of winXP - any opinion between these two packs?

it looks like ace comes with divx and indeo - does tsunami have these packaged as well, or will i have to install them seperately - and if so, before or after tsunami? any specific order?

i've had some bad experiences with nimo (in fact, that's the reason for the fresh install!) and i'd prefer not to have to go through that again. any advice would be appreciated!

I would prefer the TSUNAMI codec pack, and even in that pack I would recommend you ONLY install the codecs (custom intallation) you need, to avoid problems.

      theres nothing tsunamis pack lacks!

i havent used any other pack in years (only added some codecs to older filterpacks, the recent one on my page, however, is most complete)

UncasMS, thx for the reply - you've helped me in the past and i trust your advice!

just wanted to make sure though, cuz i can't find a list of the codecs on tsunami - will the codecs in the package run my old indeo and divx 3 movies? what about the newer versions of divx? sorry to be a pain - like i said, just don't want to be re-formatting again!!

HERE is a list of what has been removed or what is part of tsunamis latest filrterpack.

install it through the custom routine, keep everything that is chosen by default and add MORGAN STREAM SWITCHER in case you want to enjoy bilingual files!

thats how i always install the filterpack.

indeo seems to be removed, though ( i think 263 will be the old version, you're referring to!?)

so that means i'd have to install indeo separately? would you recommend installing it before or after tsunami? or should it not matter? i really hate to be a pain, but i'm not very good at this...

            thanks so much.

              install it after tsunami.

it shouldnt actually matter, though, since it doesnt interfer with the filters tsunami installs.
