Need Help with Slow burn times

    Hi,

I'm new to dvd writing, I've just got hold of a Pioneer A03 dvd writer, the problem I'm having is it's taking approx 12 hrs to backup a dvd from a dvdr when it should be taking approx. 1 hr, I'm using win 2k with sp3 and nero v 5.5.10 I'm using bulkpaq gen 4 discs at 1 speed, the writer seems to only write for 1 second, then stops for about 3 secs then starts and so on, I was under the impression that it should write continuously, the last dvd i tried it got to 70% after 7 hrs then I stopped it, I tried it in my stand alone player and it worked the picture was a little blocky but apart from that it was fine, so I know the burner is OK, has anyone any ideas what could be causing this to be sooooooo slow? Any ideas/help would be great.

    Thanks

your burner needs a firmware upgrade to burn your disc's correctly... go to pioneer's site for firmware utility..
