OK so this is really strange. I use VLC player (www.videolan.org, its' free source and good, get it) to dump to a file a multicast mpeg stream (at least I think it's mpeg).
OK so I get a mpeg file. Now the problem is this file is not readable by anything I have tryed. Some of the programs that DON'T work at all are: Media Player, Virtual Dub, Premiere, TMPGEnc, Winamp 3, FlaskMPEG, ATI file player.
I have all the codecs from NIMO CODECK PACK but that doesn't help either.
PowerDVD displays a garbled picture, but at least it displays something. DVD2AVI also displays a garbled picture.
The ONLY player I have found that works is VLC itself. VLC doesn't say anywhere what format the file actually is.
If anyone could help in converting this file to some other format it would be great.
I have put the file on my ftp so you can check it out (10MB)... here it is:
ftp://mpeg:crazy@213.140.31.171:33482/inter.mpeg
Or if that does not work try:
ftp://mpeg:crazy@213.140.31.170:33482/inter.mpeg
Below is the "file information" displayed by PowerDVD (although it shows a garbled picture):
Player Information :
Player Region Code : 2
Current Focus Drive : G:
Title Region Code : Not Available
Display Information :
Video Mode : Bob
Display Mode : DirectDraw
FourCC Code : RGB
Surface Type : Off-screen plain
Video Attribute :
Video compression mode : MPEG-2
TV system : 625/50 (PAL)
Aspect Ratio : 4:3
Display Mode : reserved
Source picture resolution : 544x576
Frame Rate : 25.00
Source picture letterboxed : Not letterboxed
Bitrate : 10.00Mbps
Audio Attribute : Not Available
Subpicture Attribute : Not Available
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Omar
