      As the previous forun suggests, i would also recommend

      * Exact Audio Copy (EAC)
      * AudioGrabber

      Ive heard alot about EAC being the best ripper and its free. (use the LAME mp3 codec with EAC) The only annoyance is that with the current version, you have to dnld and install an ASPI layer for Windows NT/2K/XP (Best ASPI layer is from Adaptec)

      AudioGrabber is a great very easy to use app also, but it costs $20, I also find the option to pause your rips in AG really cool.

      *note*
      ENCODE YOUR MP3's between 160-192Kbps for optimal sound

        I use Easy CD-DA Extractor, which can be found here . I've used tons of audio rippers and I've found this one to be to my liking

          I just use Windows Media Player at 320kbps. Simple and great sound. Note for 320 kbps you have to get a plug-in

            SKD_Tech, 320kbps is a rediculious waste of space. 192kbps is more than enough, i cant tell the difference between cd-audio and 192kbps on a $2000 stereo.

                  SKD_Tech, if you got SO much space, than why bother encoding DVDs in DivX......

                  Seriously, have you even sat down and compared a 192k file to a 320? The human ear cant tell the difference

                    I have my reasons for converting to DivX/Xvid if you would like to know why I will PM you

                    And also this computer is a server for all my others where a LOT of information is stored

                      In which case I would rather go for lossless, as I have done ages ago.

                        Where can I get a lossless Audio codec and Exact Audio Copy?

                              EXACTLY!

                              Why take the risk of getting clicks skips or ANYTHING when you have this much space?

                              I have 820 GB worth of space with all comps combined.
                              2 80 gigs in my desktop computers
                              3 200 gigs in my Server
