Gee you really need help on the specifics.
Since it is Xvid it is a AVI

Open it up in VirtualDub under the file dropdown menu select File information and post EVERYTHING you see

I don't have a "VirtualDub", and try to download one but I'm not sure which one to download.

          Thanks.

                          AC3 Being Difficult

I'm getting an 8192 error (and no audio) when I try to play a TURBOX2 file on my poor old 400MZ machine. I DO have an AGP Graphics card (only 4MB). I have loaded AC3 and rebooted my system so many times I have a migraine.

                          Here is the file information:

                          Audio format: Unknown Format
                          Video format: 608 x 336, 24 Bits, 124531 Frames, 25.000 Frames/Sec, 144 KB/Sec, DivX codec.

                          Software - Nandub v1.0rc2

Can ANYONE help me figure out how to utilize this file type on my PC that's still using Windows 98 because I loathe every Windows product Microsoft has put out since '98? I know other people with newer computers are using it so it's got to just be a problem with my computer. I can play this file in Windows Media Player (get both audio and video), however the video output is WAY too dark and Media Player will not give me the controls to make it brighter. GSPOT says the video requires AC3 and that AC3 is already installed. GSPOT renders it fine. <shrug> When I try to view it with BSPlayer, it says the overlay failed.

Many many thanks for any assistance you can give.

AC3Filter ver 0.69b. I did get it off sourceforge.net. I found something very interesting though which helped me solve my problem. Usually when people tell me to download something I take it for granted that it will fix everything (because it's always been that way in the past). <G> When I was trying to find the version of AC3 I had D/L'd to answer your response, I noticed there were special notes on an AC3 .html page that was included with the program. People using Windows98 (and a couple other systems) need to download an extra file from Microsoft that apparently was part of a later update of the operating system installed on my computer (Windows '98 link below).

                              ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/beta/...269601USA8.EXE

When I installed this file, it solved all my problems.

So I guess the moral of the story is any time you download a file someone's recommend to fix a problem, READ ALL the little .html files in the packet. <G> I'm so used to looking for .txt files I expected to find the information I needed in one of them, when in fact, the information I needed was in an .html file that I never originally looked at because I thought it was just going to give me the "About" information for the AC3 program.

                              Many thanks for your help!
