DVD file crypted! How can I rip it anyway?
    HI guys.

    I'm looking for some help.
I tried to rip a DVD movie, but after the first two vob files have been ripped my ripper stopped, and has shown me the message, file....... .vob can not be ripped, because it is crypted.
Even if I force him to do it, the speed is about 20kb/s, so its gonna take me ages to ripp this particular file, and it probably won't work anyway..
    it is a region2 DVD.

I have heard, about something called DEMPAA. supposly it will work with this codec/file/prog... whatever it is?

Does anyone has anything else, to ripp this disc, i'm grateful for any help.

    TA, Bodhi: confused:

Try using different rippers... I had a dvd that wouldn't rip using SmartRipper, but it would rip using CladMdec & DVDDecoder... so look around for some different rippers before giving up.

      @ ninja

      which title was that??

TRON did improve key access quite a lot recently.
enemy at the gates didnt work with SMARTRIPPER older than version 2.37.

since 2.37 a different method accessing vobs has been implemented and thus even titles like enemy @ the gates should work.

in case you still got that dvd that smartripper was not able to rip, could you do me a favour and give it another try with 2.38.

if smartripper still does not work, i'd like to get in touch with you!

I tried to rip private ryan, german edition, and i used DVD decryper (part of VCD-Galaxy combo pack) and clad .... something, i cant recall the right name at the moment.

But i got another question. did you work with DVDx eventualy ??
It seems to work pretty well, but i coudn't find a normaliser, to adjust audio, but it sounds "quite normal" after the rip, is it already build in? I would prefer to work with this prog, because you don't have to save the rip on your HD, it ripps straight into an mpeg2 file including audio, although it isn't a problem, got quite a lot of space, it just more comfortable.

Anyway big thx for the answer, and i'll try smartripper 2.38 ....

          STOP!!!

          hi BODHI

          DONT USE smartripper 2.38!!!!!

tron sent me the latest SMARTRIPPER 2.39 last night. 2.37 and 2.38 might cause macroblockerrors (due to key access routines).

download smartripper 2.39 - you can find more than one link to my page.

and no, i didnt try dvdx. i dont like to have my dvd rom toasted for hours

moreover, i normalize and amplify my soundstreams separately and thus my results will be better.
on the other hand, the result dvdx will give are quite good!
if you dont want to much work it will be fine.

NANDUB quality on the other hand cannot be beaten!!

I`ve just been to your website, and i read some other replies, from you about smartripper 2.38, I grabbed the right one 2.39.
            ta for warning me.

and you are damm right, this dvdx blocks the machine for a LOOOONG while, and i doesnt matter whether you got a high end system or not. this nanbub ?? never heard about that. complicated ? i dont wanna spent ages trying to adjust the whole settings....

so i reckon your suggest, to use the smartripper and than this nandub, i hope i dont have to sychronise video and audio, do your have a guide on your website, i didnt have a proper look!

take a closer look at my page and you'll find a NANDUB as well as MPEG2AVI guide.

both give very good results, only nandub is near perfect
