    Hard Disk Crashes

Ok, Is it me or anyone else thinks thats creating movies
on your computer causes Hard Disk crashes. I create on an
average 2 movies a week and have had 2 crashes in the last
    1 year
This one is very painful as my primary disk crashed. I am desperate and any suggestions will be welcome. I am running WIN2K with Fat32
and when I boot using a DOS disk and try to get directory it shows all wierd charaters on one partition while the other partition
    looks fine!
    Thanks

Does not seem to apply to me. The Quantum Fireball LCT, on which I do my conversions, has been with me for close to three years already and is still working perfectly.

There are other possibilities to your getting crashes. You may just be unfortunate enough to have picked from a batch of models that have a high occurence of failing. Or something in your system is actually causing them to fail, be it "unclean" DC current, dust, etc.

over the years i have had two hdd crashed as well.

i considered it bad luck and had them replaced.

of course reading and writing data for hours to and from a harddisk is a demanding task but that's on the other hand what harddrives should be made for.
