    "Sync" problems

I cut a xvid file with Virtual dub and Used TMPEnc to encode. Part one worked fine Burned with nero, perfect! Part 2 audio was 23 sec. ahead of video. I used Virtualdub tp sync files but whem I try to encode with TMPEnc, it freezes. As long as I try to use TMPEnc without the "SYNC" works fine. HELP?

    1) Load the XviD-compressed .AVI video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

            1) What are you trying to accomplish in TMPGEnc that necessitates cutting a 43 minute video?

            2) Instead of cutting the XviD-compressed .AVI file, let TMPGEnc process the entire file - and then use TMPGEnc's "MPEGTools - Merge&Cut" function to cut the TMPGEnc created file

Entire Video is 97 mins (714Mg) But just after the middle of the file the audio jumps 23sec. ahead of video. I burned fist half all is good. Second half I have to use Virtualdub to syncronize audio/video, but after i do that TMPGEnc will not encode it (freezes program when I open file)

if Tmpeg performs the encoding of the second part of your splits
good when you leave it in its original "unsynced"
form just do it. (ES mode m2v and mpa seperated)
you could do the sync afterwards using a tool that is able
to add a delay value in your mpa audiostream.

                like bbmpeg or similar programs

Not familiar with bbmpeg, but will give that a shot. Thanks.

Synch it up in TMPGenc. Load your video...go to "Settings" "Advanced" tab, and in "Source Range" find the "Audio Adjustments" box. Adjust + if audio after lip movement and - if before. 23 seconds is a long delay, so I'd begin at 1000 in the direction you need to go and make subsequent corrections in 400MSec intervals. Load DVD Template...hit start. and abort after first lip movement to check progress.

                      uuuuhhhh

yes rsquirell you are right 23 seconds is a very long delay.

so I have another proposal that might work.

after you have done a re sync of the second part with Virtual dub

load the resyced one again.-->set the video to direct stream copy. -->set the audio to full processing mode. --> select compession in audio
and choose pcm.--> save this file as new avi.
-->reload that new avi and choose save wav from the file dropdown menu. save to an new folder. after the procces has finished saving ,
select Disable in the audio menue and direct stream copy in the video menue. save as new avi into the new folder.

by now you should have an avi file containing only the video stream and a corresponding wav file containing the audio stream.
you can now load this these two fixed files into Tmpeg and encode a new!!

                      I hope this works.

                      good luck!

I think he said his VirtualDub resynchs were freezing in TMPGenc. I was thinking that perhaps he was unaware that the problem file could be synched in TMPGenc during the rendering...since he was going to use it anyway. Why use another piece of software to perform the synch function and run the risk of another incompatible file? Let TMPGenc do all the work.

yes but the method i suggested is not dealing with the virtual dub synched file anymore but with an extra video and audio stream
                          that might work.

Ok, I tried to sync file with TMPEnc, would not start to encode after I set audio gap in settings. Should I encode first then try to sync a/v? I really thank everyone for trying to help me. Not to give up!

I am encoding file now with audio and Vedio out of sync. Is there a program that will allow me to sync a mpeg file?
