Thanks Oriphus,
Is that svhs to a rgb scart ( rectangular 21 pins in 2 rows) as used in europe? If so is it a hardware device? I really would like a 2 way device.Comment

Yeah, I have two of these cables.
1). VGA to Compnent Video (Y, PB/PR, CB/CR)
2). RGB to SVHS (SVHS 21 pin Scart)
Cable 1 was around £70 for 7metres, cable 2 was about £30
What do you mean you would like a two way?http://www.dvd-backup.tkComment

Hi Oriphus
Re 2 way; I would like to send svhs converted to rgb from my PC into my TV and vice versa. I have only seen on the web a hardware device for converting scart-rgb into svhs. I tried wiring my PC svhs into 2 different TV's scart sockets but only got a black and white picture on all scarts ie. the TVs were not directly svhs compatible. I used the correct pins so I think I need a hardware box to do the conversion.
How did your cable work?, are there not 2 pairs of pins in svhs (brightness and colour) and 4 pairs ( composite, red, green and blue) in a scart. I know enough about the wiring to be discouraged.Comment

Is your projector reading svideo from scart? That is different from feeding svideo into a rgb scart. The scart system allows for svideo connection but it is dependent on the equipment concerned.Comment

Reading from scart to an svhs connector, then into a unit to convert it to VGA and into the connector. It worked out cheapers than the SVHS >> VGA cable at £81. Im not sure how you would go about your problem, except for buying some kind of hardware interface. Have you any in mind?http://www.dvd-backup.tkComment

No, found no 2 way stuff. It seems more straightforward in the USA where svideo is common, and they are starting hi definition tv already.Comment

From Warrenpoint on the border, get British and Irish TV but the best is off sat'. Pakistani TV is amazing, 8 people around a table taking turns to get up and sing a song, better than Friends or Neighbours.Comment

whoohoho whahahaa laughing about 8 pakistani
strange how it went ... you did not provide information about fully
wired scart to svideo/svhs cables or in reverse.....though you are the son of a man that owns or is partener
of a TV station?
that happened when someone stated:
" Im not sure how you would go about your problem, except for buying some kind of hardware interface. Have you any in mind?
and asking you a question in reverse.....
and then....
"Easier Way, sorry to go off topic, but were you from in the north, im from Belfast."
yipieyajeh......
I didn´t have at the beginning, but now I have a special point with you... still I state that when we see a digital video enthusiast
(your name) we might regard a question answered......
no point no way..... that is of course my humble opinion.....
si tacuisses philososophus mansisses .....
and don´t say that you don´t understand what I have said ....
