mpg videos will not play in password protected member area

hi-

i have a website that i have mpg videos on.

the sample videos play fine in the visitor area of the website, BUT the same video will not play in the password protected member area.

when a member tries to play the mpg the windows media player displays Error 8007000D (data is invalid) error and says "cannot open, verify path file and name are correct"

the file does begin to load for a few seconds then stops---path file and file name ARE correct.

what gives?
