    Newbie still needs help!!!!!

Fanx for repliies i`ve received till now

i`m still finding things way 2 slow

i just upgraded to an Athlon 1.6Ghz

(But since the shop was out of DDR ram)

i`m still using my 196 of SDR ram

    (This may be my bottleneck?????)

i used AVI 2 CD for a 45 minute flick

    (655 Mb). This took 8 hours & 45 min

way too long to endure , this is only disc 1

    of a 2 disc flick

In my last pot , B-4 upgrade , i used TMPGenc

    & thought i`d try AVI 2 CD

Abdul repled he was using 1.7 Ghz , with 256 Mb ram ,

    & he got 1 to 1 transfers , 1 hour flick = 1 hour encode

time ( i assume he was usind DDR ram ) , & when i install DDR

i`ll get very similar results. But i don`t want to blindly toss

$ away if this won`t greatly improve my success

So wise members , Plz advise me on this

    TIA -

      objection!
since when is 98 that slow for decoding?

and it never took me 24 hours on a 1.3tb with 512ram.
not even half the time using nandub on a 3h movie.
