capture using MPEG4. Can't match audio to video using virtualdub

When I capture video using mpg4 codec and PCM 11'025 8bit audio. The Audio is slower than the Video. I tryed several adjustments in Virtual Dub with no luck.
I can convert an AVI successfully to Divx but I am looking for "one step Capturing to divx".

    My settings 320 x 240,24rgb,23.976Fpsec
My system is a 400mghz with mmx 256 ram running 98 and Zoltrix capture board.

Your system is far too slow to attempt "on-the-fly" compression, regardless of how low you go regarding both sound quality and video resolution.

i'd rather blame your audio specs.

try to save audio to uncompressed audio while capturing and have it converted to an mp3 with some 44.1 and 128 in another go and check the sync.
