    open file warning

i have downloaded several movies that do not play audio because the file contains "unknown audio data". All these movies give me the same message, which says, "the video file you are opening includes audio data that is not recognized by the DivX Player. The file contains the following type of data

    audio data: tag 8192

You may need to install a new audio codec on your computer to listen to the audio. You can either stop playback now or watch the videio without the audio."

does anyone know what to do with this?

Just for your information, i have divx player 2.5.2 and codec adware 5.1.1

    thanks a lot.

using the search function with tag 8192 would have helped you finding postings like this:

Talk about all other file container formats and video codecs in this forum, including Ogg, RMVB, MOV, ASF, WMV ...

You have to download and install an .AC3 codec/filter...

actually. folks. i downloaded the ac3filter (ac3filter_0_69b.exe) but upon installation i got this NSIS Error message. I am guess that is ia bad file. but what do you guys think. I took a screen shot of the message and attached it to this post. so hopefully it will turn out below.

Here is the content of the message. i am afraid that the attachment isn't working out. not for me at least. here it goes:

                          "Installer verification failed

this could be the result of an incomplete download (which is not), a failing disk, or (possibly) corruption from a vicus.

You can try to force an install using the /NCRC command line switch (but it is NOT recommended)"
