    800mb XVid to 700mb Xvid

Hey, i got a xvid movie that is 800mb, too large to fit onto a cd, and i was wondering if there was any program out there that can shrink the thing. Thanks all

You can use VirtualDub to convert the video to a lower framerate (which will make the file smaller)...

Or you could re-encode the audio to a lower bitrate and cut the intro/outro credits combined with doom9's guide of putting more then 700mb on cd (more prone to error when cd is dirty/scratched), which i would recommend as this would not effeect the overall experience of the movie as much as alternative methods.

Mux your AVI into MKV and make a XCD from it : http://xcd.sf.net ....
Support the future of audio and video encoding, matroska as open standard container format and Gstreamer as open source, x-platform multimedia platform - Contact us on Corecodec, the concentric circles of audio and video, or on IRC.CORECODEC.COM #matroska ; for best viewing matroska file use The Core Media Player ( TCMP )

What is the need to mux your avi to MKV first?

Just burn the avi and burn as XCD:

AVI files can easily become unreadable if only a few bytes are missing, while more enhanced containers like MKV are more error resilient here ......
