    NO way!

    NEVER ever use 720!!

    width should always be div / 32 => 704 better 640!
    and hight depends on the fromat of the dvd material!!!
    for widescreen 2.35 use 640 x 272
    for 1.85 use 640 x 352

    and in Videocopressor im using "Divx Mpeg 4 Fast-motion" and keyframe every 3 seconds

    YAKKKK
    please dont use FAST motion!!
    low motion has much better quality unless you want a file size of some 450mb.
    go for 2 x 700mb with low mo and you'll have very good quality!!!

    for keyframes: i'd always recommend vki (variable key insertion or scene detection) that way the codec inserts a keyframe on every scene change.

    HERE is some useful information

      Since i mostly want VCDs, i make em 352x240 (is that right? cant remember)
      PCM audio
      Low-motion Divx - 3000 bitrate
      then i run it through Nero for my vcd. sometimes i use VDub to add some letterbox if its skewed.

      bleh i can never get that bbmpeg output thing to work, thats why i have to use so many steps.
