    This may seem pretty out there

    but does anyone know of a compression program such as autoGK, where you can insert were you want to put specific keyframes?

    Compression of what into what?
    TMPGenc lets you put key frames where you want them. It encodes avi into various things (mpeg2 usually).

      im compressing dvd to avi, is it possible with this program you speak of

        OK now I really don't understand! DVD->AVI, what exactly do you mean? AVI isn't a format, it's just a "package" with whatever format in it, usually people abuse the term to say "DV" format. Is that what you mean? In that case, it's not compressing, it's decompressing if anything! (DV format is much bigger than MPEG2).

        If it's DV, then there's no notion of key frame as far as I know). Key frames only exist in MPEG if I'm not mistaken...

        Why exactly are you trying to do that?

            ok, lets try again, im converting from mpeg2 -> divx, once divxed i cut the film into chapters, i want to be able to do this where i specify with the keyframes, does this make a little more sense? im new to this ****, as you prolly guessed

                      MPEG 1/2 to AVI.. I guess that is what you want.
