Looking for media player that can sharpen movie image

Is there any media player software that can sharpen the picture on playback (of Divx, Xvid files)? There are certain movies (example: Fox Laborer's version of "Ran") that desperately require sharpened image. I would be grateful for any help.

you can use just about any player not sesami in particular

all you have to do is using FFDSHOW as playback filter which will give you numerous options - sharpen is one of them

Can you provide some pointers on how to use FFDSHOW as playback filter? I am fairly new at this game.
