Can't view a video in Media Player 10?

    File extension is avi.
    Wont run in WMedia player.
I've loded it up in utility called AVIcodec and it returns the following info:

    "Video : 699 MB, 1236 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 720*528 (4:3), DIV3 = DivX v3 MPEG-4 (Low-Motion), Unsupported"

    Now what???

d/l and install the divx codec. I would get the latest version. You can d/l the codec from this site or the newest version from the divx.com site

d/l and install the divx 3 codec. the divx 3 codec is supposedly a hacked version of microsoft"s mpeg 4 codec. you can d/l it from this site. I have the newest version of divx and divx 3 installed on my pc

For viewing MOST .AVIs, download and install the FFDShow filter...

try vlc (videolan) free and plays most anything and uses it's own codec. although you shold be able to play it with one of the replies above. you don't have a codec pack installed do you. this has been known to cause problems.
