Gordianknot:Didn't use movie mode in smartripper :s

I made the silly mistake of using the 'files' mode in smartripper with gordian knot 0.23 and now i get the error message 'could not open log file' when the divx first pass is supposed to start in virtualdub. is this something to do with not having the ifo file? stupid mistake i know, someone please help!

p.s. these forums rule, i'm not a newbie i just forgot my uid :S

    my advice is this:

    - update to e recent version of GK
    - use dvddecrypter instead of smartripper

trons' smartripper was a marvellous ripper 3-4 years ago but it hasnt been updated for 4 years now and so you could easily run into decrypting troubles

Has it been that long? Cheers for that, downloading the new gk package as i type this. Although i don't think there were any decrypting probs: Can i do anything with the .vobs already on my system? I don't have any other files, just the vobs, but they show up perfectly well in DVD2AVI, and the sound encoded fine.

i am not entirely sure if ifos are need (almost think they are NOT)
dvd2avi/dgindex should handle the vobs w/out ifos actually

can you re-rip the source data?

only vobs are needed for dgindex/dvd2avi

i recommend you stop using dvd2avi as well. use dgindex, it comes with the newer GK.
