Please Help!!! Installed PCI card (No audio/video)

Last night I installed a PCI card into my dell computer. Everything seems to be working appropriatly other than it's not actually transfering the audio/video. The computer is recognizing the new hardware, however I can't view the images or sound. I've gone to the My Computer section after trying, clicked on the appropriate icon for my camcorder and the Firewire port and it says error in transferring video or something along that lines. Check connections which I've done several times. Please help!!!!
