Verbatim brand new spool of 100 defective?

This is something strange I am wondering if the spool of 100 DVD's may be just defective.

I have updated my firmware.

The blank new dvd's are not recognised by my writer. I have used Verbatim before with out a problem.

I have some cheaper blanks that my writer can read but not there.
Nero cant read these,
DVDD cant read these,
Image burn cant read.

Is there anything I can checkinto to make these work or is it possible that the whole spool of 100 may be defective.

can you load it up to nero speed test to see the disc information?

I can't do anything with them writer cant read them at all.

I think you can return them as defective disc, if you can read other disc with nero test like you say above, unless you click the wrong drive

I have even tryed more then 20 of these none of them work.
I have never herd of a whole spool of 100 not working at all though that is weird.
The thing I am afraid of is if this spool is defective the whole lot that Sam's club has may be as well.

return to Sam, get the 75 Sony 8X+ ( make sure they all make from Japan, some of them have 25 from Taiwan and 50 from Japan) those are even better then the Verbatim

Now that you mention that the last spool of Verbatim that I bought were made in Japan now that I am looking at this spool it says made in Taiwan.

Are the Verbatims no lnger made in Japan or are they made in both.

both Verbatim and Sony make from both countries, but the one from Japan have better quality control go figgure , Sony from japan is Yuden

I think I will do that the Sony are 2X as much money though.

Are Verbatim's a recommended brand normally?? I have been using Sony 8X -R's, but would of course like to spend less
