MPEG4 compatible DVD players

Ok,I have 2 queries:
1. Do these players play Divx or Xvid in avi container or mp4 container?
2.suppose they play avi,then,do they play avi in a cd or a dvd or both?

the ones i have tested so far do NOT play mp4 but avi with all common codecs (divx3-5 + xvid) on either cd or dvd

in addition to avi most of them play MPG files as well without a problem

of course you could mix different mpg, divx + xvids on your cd/dvd

a few do play mp4 (with mpeg4 asp only, ofcourse. no avc yet) and aac. the good ones support all features of mp4 like chapters and subs

Here is a great site with some Divx/Xvid players this is where I found my Pioneer I didnt buy it here I got a better price else where
