O.K. I have searched on this and found a thread that said to use the print screen button, but alas when I hit mine it does nothing? I can go into my print screen utility and get the screen I want to print out on paper, but I don't know how to save it to get it onto my post. I'm wanting to ask a ? about dma and thought it would be easier to do a screen shot of what I have rather then try to explain it all out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
? about posting screen shots

I use Quickshot myself because it can download an image directly to imageshack. It also has a Mozilla firefox plugin that if I right click on a picture, I can chose to send it to imageshack or to any other folder on my computer.
When I get to imageshack, I take the direct link and insert in the image file locator. I use the format PNG because it takes less data than JPG.

This is how I learned to do it from LT. Colombo...
press ALT+print screen. open MSpaint>edit>paste>save as(select PNG).go to imageshack
http://www.imageshack.us/ browse for this file you just made, then "host" it. copy and paste the link under "hotlink for forums 1" in your post.

Do save straight to png instead of saving to bmp and later converting to png cause the conversion will blow up file size!Comment

I don't know what I'm not getting about this.
Mikey I tried your method and when I go to paste it in paint there is no option to paste. When you say "after taking the screenshot" what should I be using to take the screenshot?
I tried the alt printscreen but all I get is it actually printing out on paper.
When I try the quickshot w/image shack I paste the link in the post and when I preview it, it goes to the quickshot image like gd8ck posted.
I got fed up and quit trying for now. I guess I'll try again tomorrow. I must be tired and missing something! lol

After much last night I got up this morning, restarted the computer and tried again. I guess maybe last night I tried so many different things I even had my computer confused!lol I got it to work, probably not the best or easiest but I got it to work!
When I hit alt/printscreen it would try to print on paper, I had to cancel print and then go to paint. Last night paste wasn't an option under edit in paint for some reason(I'm sure it was an "operator" error!). This morning it worked fine and then I saved it and hosted thru image shack.
I tried the quickshot and was doing something wrong eveidently, will try to look into that as it looks easier. Gonna look at the snagit as well.
Thanks for all your help!
