Sometimes, remove Nero with Add or Remove Programs creates an in complete Nero uninstallation. That why Nero's made Nero Clean Tools for that. If you did uninstall Nero 4 or Nero 7 with windows Add or Remove Programs and now try to unstall them with the Clean Tools, sometimes it doesn't work sucessfully or completely. I recommend you to see what Nero version is still in your PC - 6 or 7. Just reinstall that version again and then uninstall iNero with the Clean Tool built for that particular version. Good luck

Wow, has it always been so complex in XP to remove programs? I still use win98SE and I think I will stick with that. I wonder if the new forthcomming Vista OS will be even more cumbersome to remove programs?
I thought MS's whole approach with the windows OS's is to make working with the PC easier. Seems rather the opposite.
it's not xp vs 98se here, it's nero and the drastic change between
6 and 7, there's no clean upgrade path and the uninstall doesn't clean up the registry enough. people shouldn't willynilly go between versions

directions plainly state to run the cleantool
Ahh, got it. Was just curious because a friend's laptop was having problems removing some programs and it runs xp.
it's more a problem with newer programs like nortons that have so many different components all interdependent and running in the backgound all the time, they don't want to die. You boot into safe mode and they say, no
we can't be killed here. Just like getting rid of a virus.
