Hmm, so there's nothing I can do?
I just realized that when I played the disc in divx that it works and plays fine although it seems a bit stretched, like thinner characters. I don't know if this is any helpful information though, sorry.

Sorry I am no expert on converting and encoding, but there are people here that can help you with that better then I can. I know the basics of converting .avi to dvd. Not sure how you would fix yours though.

Maybe the Lt. knows more on this one.

Hang in there though there are members here that would know how to help you. It's about timeing though, you will have to wait for those people to come on line.

Thats not something eveyone really does a lot. But there are those that do.

                  so dont give up.

maybe Dialysis knows more one this.

Try adjusting the vertical size on your TV if it can be adjusted.

Tried that, still didn't help much.
Subtitles were still too much down and weren't fully visible.
