Major Problem with converting video file

I have on my add/remove programs list for Xvid is Xvid codec and Xvid 1.1 final unistall, thats wat it says

Well that thing really screwed up my comp, evrytime i close out of bearshare it starts right bk up, and i think it was because i installed that thing. But anyways how was that supposed to help the problem wit the episode to encode?

i don't believe that for a second, lame does not screw up a pc, p2p/codec packs have in your case

yeah, i use LAME on 2 machines, it won't screw anything up. you can do a system restore to get things back to the way it was. get rid of bearshare and that filthy CCCP codec pack.

yes, clean all crap codecs on your system, install the xvid and LAME, use TMPGEnc. you have xpress correct?

before you begin!

open xpress. go to options>preferences>input plug-in setting tab

under the "VFAPI plug-in priority order" click on directshow multimedia file reader and drag it to the top of the list. make sure it's on top!

it puts the plug-in at the highest priority, allowing you to load files without load error or stream writing errors.

Ok when i did that it had an error with TMPGEnc it said it had an error stopped at the output and the pop-up said something about a title and then some numbers and letters after it. I dont know what happened...Any Ideas?

O and it stopped at 21%

all codec packs removed? xvid installed, LAME too?

can you post the exact wording of the error? double check directshow is still at the top.

also, note the time at which it fails, go to the same spot of the original file and see if there is a problem at that exact spot. it's not looking good for you. how can you verify the source being from P2P?

Aiight how do i get the exact wording of the error?
do the process again? and yes xvid and lame are installed but to make sure give me the link for Xvid again and ill reinstall it and umm ill try to find the bad part of the file
