    I also saw this...

    Physical memory : 502MB (514864kB)
    Free physical memory: 68MB (69768kB)
    Memory in use : 86 %
A little low on memory, though probably not a source of your current problem.

    Burn process started at 8x (11,080 KB/s)
What speed are these discs rated for burning? Only burn at half the rated speed of the blank.

    Media Specific [16..63]:
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
    00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
Chewy is on the money with the media, your drive isn't picking it up.

I also am thinking about procuring a BenQ1650 or Sony DRU820A.What do u think of these?
And again, why that Nero Info Tool crash?

if that's the media, then it's probably your burner or setup that's causing so many problems, unless you can find a reliable source of grade A media, I would stay away from the benq. The sony is a rebadge of the new benq 1670
and too new to tell anything yet.

@paglamon - it seems this drive has a reputation for not liking DVD-R media . See here

Also there is a tool called MediaCodeSpeed Edit by ala42 that works on your drive\fw combo. Read about it and get it here If you have a hard time getting media you can add one that might not be supported in the present fw. Why Nero Info Tool does not work on your drive, I dunno. Good Luck

The DW 1670 should be about the same as the DQ60...forgettable. Both use the Matsu****a chipset.

          DQ60

          DW1670

Thank u all for ur input.
@jm1647, after reading that, i think i should start looking for DVD+R.
@ Chewy, MBI is supposed to be pretty good media.Which drive would u expect to give the least amount of problem in writing on MBI?

Is there any other tool that has the same function as Nero Info Tool ?

@paglamon - I gave up using DVD-R awhile ago. All I use is DVD+R and booktype them to DVD-ROM for the greatest compatability with standalone players. I have had great success with Staples brand DVD+R MBI media in my LiteOn 1693S

Thanks jm1647.Here is a screenshot of MCSE loaded with the latest firmware of my DVD writer drive.Does this imply that a media having any of those mentioned codes should be compatible with my drive?

@paglamon - Yes they should be compatible. If the media you have now is not listed you can substitute it for one of the media listed that you don't use. Good Luck
