    Chewy,
Are you sure that Nero Soundtrax is one of the apps that comes with Nero 6, because I cant find that app, either in Startsmart, nor in the Nero menu in the start area?

Chewy, thanks, i finally found it on my HD, but it informs me that my license does not allow me to open it. Guess thats because my Nero 6 is OEM that came with the burner. Oh well.

Chewy beat me to it. I just looked at my Nero to verify. I am using the full version of 6.6.0.18 and under audio it has both convert LP and Tape to CD. Too bad they dont give a little bit more on the OEM versions.

Another vote for Audacity. Personally, i'd rather listen to the LP. However, recording LP to CD will sound better than a proper made CD most of the time if it is done right.

I was not talking about Nero Soundtrax. It is for more advanced operations.I was talking about Nero Wave Editor.

My NERO is version 6.6.0.18 but can't find the LP icon.

I updated to the latest version but doesn't seem to be very compatable with DVD Shrink, and yes I have wave editor.

Have anyone tried Polderbits Sound , recorder and editor. It is listed on this website.

                Thanks guys Alan.

Hi VW, thanks for your infomation, but I am puzzled. I was running 6.6.0.18 and have just updated to ulta from your link to NERO. I have searched the program and start smart, and I still haven't been able to locate the (LP's or TAPE icon). Could you please tell me where it is located.

                    Thanks Alan.

When I open up my StartSmart for Nero, in the center of the window at the top is a pull down menu that lets me choose CD, DVD, or CD?DVD. I choose either CD or CD/DVD and then go to the "music note" icon for the list of audio selections. In the window on the bottom to the right of center is a circular Icon that looks like two people, click it and it should change to two guys that look like geeks. This toggles between standard and advance tasks. Once in the advanced area you should be able to use the scroll bar at the bottom center and see the LP and Tape options.

I hope this solves the mystery.

My bother in law is looking at doing this too. He has an AMD Sempron 3200 processor. MoBo unknown. Can a sound card be used through an USB port?

Or should it be hardwired into the Mobo?

I will be working on his computer tomorrow. I can Everest 2.20 his computer if this will help.

What type of soundcard would be needed??

                              @ Gary, I found this: http://www.creative.com/products/pro...&product=10702

MicroCenter sells it for about $50 USD. It might be a viable option if a Pci slot is not available.
