      Thanks!

But i've just learned that TmpgEnc was able to do this as well.
Not the ripping part, but it can convert a movie with AC3 sound.
If the video and audio does not load just increase Direct Show pri in Env settings/VFAPI until it does.

"but it can convert a movie with AC3 sound."

I believe you'll discover that the resultant SVCD (if, in fact, you've somehow retained the .AC3 audiostream) will play without sound on your standalone DVD player or, that the audiostream has been converted to .MP2 format...

I believe that if you check the audio format of the SVCD that plays on your STANDALONE DVD player (output to your TV), you'll find that it's .MP2 and not .AC3...

Sorry for my lack of knowledge. I kinda new to this and i did not realy understood you. But i was not meaning to use AC3 at all. Since i don't own a suround reciver i realy don't care if it's in mp2 or AC3. But is it possible to keep the ac3 suround sound on my SVCD?

As I've already mentioned in my previous posts, you can create an SVCD with AC3 sound, but when you play it on a standalone player you'll be greeted with stone silence...

And why is that? Must i connect a suround reciver to my DVD then to get sound? And will it be suround sound then? I read this tip on VCD help forum and it worked for me since i don't have suround. AC3 IS equal to suround or?

                    "And why is that? "

Because .AC3 audio is NOT part of the SVCD standard - and therefore, your standalone player won't recognize an AC3 audiostream when playing back an SVCD...

Is it possible to keep the suround sound in some way and use it in e.g SVCD?
