      no you miss understand . I have nothing against linux at all . quite the contrary , but it is the fact that the article said that was where the ripped movies were coming from .

          Cool see I didnt know that . Now I get why they said Linux user's were doing the ripping . But still the way they said it made it seem like that was where all rips are done , triing to make the open source community look bad and thats what I was laughing about because it seems to me most of the dvd rips done nowdays is done on a windows system .

            It's a really old article by the way. April 2000? Heck! I don't think I knew of DivX until the month of October or November at that time.

              i bought my first dvd drive end of 99 (it still works in my other pc) and ripping the data was a pain in the a*** let alone transcoding
