Thats pretty cheap for a burner. To buy one in a store (like a Sony, Memorex or HP) they are much more expensive (around $100). Why the big discrepency in price? Are the more expencive ones better?
Also that NEC, it it dual layer? It doesn't say.Last edited by varflow; 5 Oct 2006, 09:28 AM.Comment

good prices Benq or Nec for under $50.00 if on sale more like around $35.00 or so.
Local stores are way over priced.
Local stores want to make a profit large enough to pay all of their over head places like newegg ship to the customer and dont have the same over head that local stores do they also sell a ton. So I would Imagine that is why you see a much lower price cuts out a lot of middle men.
Most expensive is not always the best just highest priced.Last edited by photo_angel2004; 5 Oct 2006, 10:25 AM.Comment

Yeah, don't be afraid of them at all; My (2) 1650s were around $29.00 ea., & the (2) 1655s were around $33.00 at the time.
The pricing on local stuff is way out of whack - I rarely buy any items at the local stores anymore. I don't mind waiting a couple days for shipping to get it at a better price
