Ebay Purchase of a Burnt dvd.

HI, I was looking for The Rescuers on DVD(DISNEY). SO I found one, bid and won, And when I got it in the mail yesterday guess what It was a burnt copy with the artwork on the disc and no case just a sleeve.

So I complained and emailed the seller and asked for a refund. His reply was that, it was not a burnt or a bootlegged copy and that I was slandering him and his company. He said send it back and he would refund my money. Well here is the part I was intrested in. He said ONCE WE RECEIVE THE DISC BACK WE WILL RUN YOUR DISC ON OUR S-500 SCANNER THIS WILL LET US KNOW IF OUR DVD IS OURS AND IF IT HAS BEEN COPIED. What the heck is a s-500 scanner? Does this exist? Is the pissed off guy talking alot of sh_t? Further I got this at the end of his email "I have BEEN selling DVDS for 9 years and I have stores so SLANDERING me is not in your best intrest" Who is this guy?

Any help with the S-500 Scanner. Not that I want to burn his sh_t anyhow.

I would be going through the motions with eBay, no matter who the guy is. Basically no luck on google for that type of scanner but you can get this one on eBay.

I would definitely report the seller to the proper people at Ebay. Go to your My ebay page and go to the dispute console and report a dispute for an item received not as described.

that really succs SirDonk...same thing happen to me but i got it at a store..different movie (longest yard)..

I had the same thing a few years back with The Little Mermaid. But I bought it at Amazon. The movie worked but the english sub-titles show up when yu played the movie. LOL

I would definatly file a dispute with ebay but I'd also be sure to hold onto the disc as proof till ebay tells you to send it back to the seller or to them for inspection.
