I received a LG Brand DVD Recorder / VCR Combo (mostly so I could transfer recorded shows on tape to a DVD-R and because I'd rather record on DVD Recorder so I can watch the DVDs elsewhere.) for a Christmas gift (December 2006).
I taped from television onto a DVD-R "The Parent Trap" w/ Haley Mills, with said DVD Recorder, a few months ago. I tried playing it in my regular DVD Player, a 5 Disc player from Sony and it won't play at all. The DVD-R plays just fine in the DVD Recorder.
I want to be able to bring these DVDs I made (I made one with the "Sarah, Plain and Tall" movies as well) on vacation so I need them to be able to play in a portable DVD Player.
Anyway, is there some solution to my problem? I am pretty sure the DVD got "finalized" after I stopped recording. I want to be able to record some more programs to DVD (from old VCR tapes that I taped programs from television onto) and be able to play them in my other player. I have not tried DVD+R discs, only DVD-Rs because that's what I purchased at the time. The brand of Disc (if that makes a difference) is Memorex. It is 16X, 4.7 GB / 120 Min type discs.
If anyone can help me out, I'd be grateful!
Thanks.
