    Editing Software

    Hello,

I am new to all this editing digital video and have been tasked with making a mock commericial for work. My question is what software is best to use if i'm going to have alot of video which I will need to cut down to about 90 seconds. I have access to Premiere would that be my best bet, I do not really know anyone who knows anything about though. Is there something easier?

I appreciate your help and if this is not the right forum for these sorts or questions could someone point me in the right direction.

    Thank you so much!

The Adobe product is one of the most sophisticated, most expensive and not the easiest software you can get hold of.

Since decent software will always cost you quite a bit and since premiere has been bought already i'd say: make yourself familar with this tool even though it may not appear simple in the beginning

you should have a manual coming with your software and besides you could take a look at guides available on the internet

Yes. Adobe Premiere seems to involve a pretty steep learning curve. I find Ulead Video Studio and Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD pretty efficient and user friendly.

Ulead video studio has a much easier learning curve
at a fraction of the price of Adobe..

Your end results will look just as good..
          Adobe isn't magic.
It's just loaded with more tools than you would ever use.
Many professionals use Adobe but unless your home movie is going to the next Sundance festival,
          I wouldn't spring for it..

Whatever you buy... don't buy Pinnacle! They are terrible and crash every few minutes. I have 2 GB RAM and have tried it on multiple computers. It also adds deafening screeches when you use multiple audio effects. They have terrible customer service!
