    Ripping AC3 from AVIs

I have a couple of episode AVIs which have been encoded with AC3 audio, i would like to rip/convert this audio to mp3 or simular to decrease its file size, i cant seem to find any tools that do this, i know there are ac3-mp3 tools but u cant open avi with them (as far as i know i havnt tested them all) i wondered if anyone could point out a tool to do this, like some sort of plug-in for virtualdub considering it cant play ac3 audio even with the ac3 codec that u can get from the nimo codec pack.

    Thanks in advance

    load your avi into nandub

file => save wav will let you extract the present audio stream

make sure to call the file *.ac3 and then convert this ac3 with for example besweet!

or set video to direct stream and under audio use compression then save the file to another name.

nandub has better support for various audio formats, that's why is suggested nandub instead of vd, though the handling is identical.
