I did not know that the Swedish layout was different, you can teach a old dog like me new tricks. Thanks for the info.

I've fixed it ... the new server software does directories differently than the old software (digital-digest.com/cynthia/ instead of digital-digest.com/~cynthia/), so I've added symbolic links that will ensure both types of links work.

Hi Admin. I wouldn't know about the issue I posted concerning the screenshot thread. I just posted a new thread and got some replys. I'll search around and if anything let you know. Thnx.

I think the problem might have been your DNS not having switched over to the new server's IP address yet (eg. if your ISP caches DNS searches), and still sometimes redirecting you back to the old server (forum is closed there, so getting the "You need admin rights" message is correct). This kind of problem will go away in a day or two.

Hmmmm I remember when IBM brought out the 101 key keyboard. I liked having the arrow keys so you could leave numlock on, but the worst thing they ever did was remove the 10 function keys from the left and replace 'em with 12 function keys along the top! I used to be able to hit a function key with the little finger of my left hand and keep my fingers on "home row." You didn't throw off your typing rhythm every time you hit an F key. There was a company that made XT Style keyboards but I think they went bankrupt.

Throwing off my typing rhythm is one thing I don't have to worry about, but I am developing a callous on one finger though.

Oh ok. It's probably gone 4 all I know. I'm trying to add paint and clipboard back to my pc. So imagine where I'm at as far as DNS. lol. Google's my friend. I'll know what DNS is soon enough.

DNS controls what happens after you type in a domain name in your browser (that is, which server the request goes to). I've just done a test, and there is still a lot of traffic going to the old server, so I will have to leave it running for a bit longer.

The reason why your local DNS might still be redirecting to the old server has to do with cached DNS entries, as well as just the normal time it takes for changes to DNS settings to propagate around the world. There might be millions of DNS servers that need to be updated before everyone sees the site on the new server.

Sometimes I really wonder how the Internet manages to work, with so many things happening at the same time (DNS updates, request and packets flying everywhere), but it does work and it's quite a marvel of technology.

All old dogs in Sweden had to learn the new layout of keyboards in the early 80ths. They changed the location of the ÅÄÖ kyes. That was not easy - even if the old dog was younger back in those days.

Heh. Taking typing 101 was the best and worst decision I made. I can type at moderate speed without looking at the keys, but I can't lean back in a chair with the keyboard on my lap or I'll lose my mind! I have to sit upright at the desk with fingers on home row or my typing teacher will hunt me down!!

I took a typing course years ago, even got a "B", but if you don't use it, you lose it.

My ISP somehow directed me back to the old server again last night. I had to change my DNS setting (I use 4.2.2.1 as the DNS server, since this is easy to remember).

This is how the swedish keyboard layout looks:

What are the characters next to the O and the P? What do they mean? and also how do you you activate all the items on the top row i.e / 7 { . Seems I only have one shift key on each side of my keyboard to access two characters & 7. Just curious Also the key in the upper left of your keboard. The square looking symbold on the number 4 key.

I would assume the key on the left and right with the up arrow pointing to the "top"...
