What is the best DVD ripping software?

ripping means nothing but transfering the data from dvd to hdd!
my favourite for ripping is SMARTRIPPER 2.41
in case you meant the whole process from ripping to transcoding to audio related stuff to muxing (combining video + audio):
what you find there is what i prefer and how i prefer to do it!

Whenever I use DVD2AVI. When I convert it to an avi, it comes out with these horizontal lines coming back and forth as the movie goes on.Originally posted by UncasMS

you did NOT use dvd2avi for conversion, did you??

You need to frameserve to Virtualdub, apply a deinterlacer filter there and do your encodig using Virtualdub.Comment
