dvd towers

Hi, complete newbie here hoping to learn,just got a coobee bestsonic tower duplicator with 5 Pioneer a04 drives,hoping to copy some of my adult dvds,thought this would be easy as I believe they are mostly uncoded,[well don't have macrovision anyway],fired the thing up but can't seem to get past the setup to the actual recording,according to the limited instructions I was supposed to load it up and press start and that would be it but no,no combination of pushing various buttons will get these drives to start recording.
Anyone else got a tower system and what has been your experience?Any advice gratefully appreciated-off to phone customer support now.
