I can answer the macrovision part.

Macrovision is (was) a way to protect VHS tapes from being copied. This is done by adding some false synchronizations in the image. (if you want more details, ask me, I can talk about this for hours...)

This protection makes the VHS recorder record the image in a VERY BAD quality.
On (most) DVD's that same Macrovision protection is applied, so you won't be able to copy a DVD to tape. (however, there are workarounds).

That DeMacrovision option will remove those Macrovision syncs from the image, thus removeing that specific copy protection (but since you're in ripping software, you already bypassed all others )

Depends... As far as I know, it doesn't matter (for a computer) weather the Macrovision is on or off...
However, since it almost takes no time to activate that checkbox and remove that crapy-sync-stuff, I'd say, why not remove it...

I always tell SmartRipper to remove the Macrovision.

I'm now at work so I can't tell you the ver numbers, but I never had a problem with any version. I now use the latest on WinXP without any problem.

The only problem you can have is that there is no (compatible) ASPI driver, but I have one that works, so if that's your problem i'll upload it for you (or anyone else)

              Thanks!!!!

I only need the ver. numbers!!!
If i can get these i can download it myself ( I know the way
              on the f*cking net )

So if you would set these on the forum once when you have time, i would be very thankfully!!!

              Thanks!!
